Established in 2000, Breakwater Renovation & Design LLC provides full-service residential remodeling, from initial design concepts straight through to construction. Breakwater was founded on three basic principles; exceptional customer service, aesthetically pleasing design solutions and high-quality up-to-date building methods. We pride ourselves on truly understanding our client's wants and needs and are able to create functional redesigned spaces within a specified budget. We continually research new products and attend training seminars to implement new construction methods.
Lisa Heldwhite
Lisa White, Managing Partner, founded Breakwater in 2000 with the vision of integrating timeless design with high quality and affordable construction. Over the last two decades, Breakwater has completed a multitude of design and construction projects, from kitchen and bathroom renovations to completely restoring a late 1800's Georgian Colonial style Manor house. Lisa prides herself on understanding clients needs and blending functional design with aesthetically pleasing finishes. Lisa holds a BFA degree in Interior Design from Paier College of Art and is registered with the state of CT. Her specialties include creative space planning, custom millwork design and project management.
Frederick Heldwhite
Fred Held, Associate Partner, joined Breakwater in 2002. Fred oversees all construction projects with the goal of bringing Lisa's designs to life. He is a perfectionist by nature, and a Master Carpenter by trade. Fred always finds a way to incorporate high quality materials, skilled labor and state of the art construction methods without ever losing sight of a client's budget and expected completion date. He is the go to guy who always gets it done.
Kurt Niquette
Kurt Niquette, Head Project Manager, is the organizational force behind Breakwater’s projects. Kurt holds a BS in business administration from Bryant University and has fulfilled a number of management roles, including serving as one of the lead project managers on the new Delta terminals at LaGuardia airport. Preferring the one-on-one relationships with clients offered by residential construction, Kurt joined Breakwater in July of 2020. Kurt enjoys involving clients as part of the larger team, maintaining transparency as projects progress and ensuring that clients are heard every step of the way. Kurt lives in Milford with his wife and daughter.
